PPB Newslink Breaking News January 9: alphabroder Acquires Ash City


alphabroder announced today the acquisition of Richmond Hill, Ontario-based supplier Ash City Worldwide (UPIC: ash0001). Alphabroder, headquartered in Trevose, Pennsylvania, recently rebranded from its prior name Broder Bros., Co. (UPIC: BRODER) to unite the company’s brands under a single umbrella and create simplified business practices and clear company messaging.

The companies will leverage alphabroder’s existing national distribution platform and Ash City’s brands, sourcing and design capabilities as well as its presence in Canada. Combined, alphabroder will supply trade, retail and private-label branded apparel, including t-shirts, outerwear, corporate apparel and fleece to the promotional and corporate apparel industry. alphabroder expects to leverage the broad suite of capabilities within both companies to better serve its customers.

Garry Hurvitz, founder of Ash City Worldwide, is stepping down from the company in the transition.
