U.S. Postal Service To Raise Rates 2.4 Percent In 2014

The U.S. Postal Service has announced that prices for shipping services will increase by 2.4 percent beginning in January 2014.

Highlights of the new retail pricing for domestic Priority Mail Express products include:

  • Retail Flat Rate, Padded Flat Rate and Legal Flat Rate envelopes — $19.99
  • Flat Rate Boxes — $44.95

The Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) will review the prices before they become effective on January 26, 2014.

Also in 2014, the USPS will also offer a new delivery choice for domestic Priority Mail Express. Customers can send domestic Priority Mail Express packages to most U.S. locations by 10:30 am for an additional $5.
