Q2 Sales Up More Than Five Percent Over Same Period Last Year

The results of PPAI’s Quarterly Sales Barometers for the second quarter of 2012 show both suppliers and distributors reporting an increase over the same period in 2011.

A sample of 132 member and non-member suppliers surveyed in the second quarter of 2012 for the PPAI Supplier Quarterly Sales Barometer show an average increase of 5.18 percent over the same quarter last year. For most, 56 percent, sales targets were met for second quarter, although there is some caution, with some of those surveyed saying that business has slowed with clients postponing purchases to the fall. The PPAI Distributor Quarterly Sales Barometer surveyed 353 distributors, revealing that they experienced growth of about 5.8 percent over the same period in the previous year. Seventy-one percent of distributors reported an increase in the second quarter of 2012, which was similar to the percentage that saw an increase the last quarter.
