The Value In Recognizing And Mastering Change

In her Editor’s Note, “Something To Chew On,” in PPB’s April issue, Editor Tina Berres Filipski wrote on the importance of staying relevant to your audience.

Your timely topic and brilliantly discussed editorial was, indeed, something to chew on. Any reader can relate; whether through the disappearance of gumballs, buggy whips or logoed ashtrays, change happens. We must be open to it and creative in its execution. Your most pertinent point is that our industry is more relevant than ever. It’s the media and medium that remain to be seen as opposed to the quick and quickly forgotten Twitter tweets and Facebook postings. As you note, adapting—and mastering—what’s new, as well as reinventing the company and the capabilities, are essential tools to survival. And, as you also point out, one must be the innovative, consultative partner that clients need so that their businesses also survive.
