Charles River Apparel Awarded Massachusetts Family Business Of The Year
The Northeastern University Center for Family Business named industry supplier Charles River Apparel (UPIC: CRA) the Massachusetts Family Business of the Year in the mid-sized category. Charles River Apparel President Barry Lipsett accepted the James F. Molloy, Jr. Award on behalf of the Lipsett family.
The event honors Massachusetts’s leading family-owned businesses and entrepreneurs and recognizes their success in running and managing their businesses. The awards are subdivided into small, mid-sized and large family businesses, and presented based on business success, positive family and business linkages, multi-generational family involvement, contributions to the community and industry, and innovative business practices and strategies.
Lipsett’s father, Walter Lipsett, founded Charles River Apparel in 1983 and remains involved in the business today. His wife, Deb Lipsett, is manager of community partnerships, and his sister Julie Lipsett works in human resources at the company.
“It is such an honor to be recognized by the Northeastern University Center for Family Business,” says Barry Lipsett. “The growth and success of Charles River Apparel extends far beyond the achievements of our Lipsett family members. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our employees, our Charles River Apparel family, and I share this award with all of them.”
