Three Things To Know About Facebook’s New Look
All company and brand pages on Facebook are now required to use the service’s new timeline layout. If you haven’t yet updated your account to fit with the new design, or if you are still unaware of the new features timeline offers to businesses, take a look at this list of things to know by Seth W. Lieberman, CEO of Pangea Media/SnapApp.
Your page has a new look
You’ve probably noticed your Facebook page has a new design, which is built around a main “cover photo.” Use this image to set the personality of your page or show off a product or project. Your profile image also has a new size, so be sure to adjust it so there is no unintended clipping.
You can exchange private messages
Fans or visitors to your Facebook page can now send private messages to you, and you can respond without anyone else viewing your conversation. One caveat: Brands can only respond to messages; they can’t initiate them. This feature is optional, which is good because some companies may need to first prepare for an onslaught of messages from followers.
Timeline fits better with your multimedia
Facebook’s new page design makes using videos, quizzes, surveys, sweepstakes, contests and coupons easy. A good place to keep this content is in your “tabs” or under “favorite apps.”
