On April 30, The Chest, Inc. (UPIC: thechest), a supplier in Washington, Missouri, hosted a visit from Congressman Blaine Luetkemeyer, a Representative for the 9th district in Missouri.
During his visit, the Congressman was given a tour of the facility by Mary Dobsch, MAS, president of The Chest, and he addressed the company’s employees.
“During the tour, we were able to give him a better understanding of how promotional products can be used as an effective advertising medium for important issues, such as educating children on healthy eating habits and the dangers of smoking,” says Dobsch. “It was also a good opportunity for him to see a small business that makes all of its products in the U.S.A and has employees that are very proud of what they do.”
Congressman Luetkemeyer was also given the chance to speak to the employees regarding his concerns about government taking too strong of a role and how it affects small businesses. Dobsch says: “The visit gave our company a chance to start some dialogue about small business’ struggles with wanting to hire more employees but not having the ability or money to do so due to increased government regulations on promotional products.”
