More than 700 balloon professionals from the U.S. and 47 countries around the world descended upon Dallas, Texas, March 21-25 for the second World Balloon Convention (WBC). The educational event, hosted by Wichita, Kansas-based supplier Pioneer Balloon Company (UPIC: Pioneer), provided delegates with a variety of classes, competitions, networking meetings, parties and more.
The WBC culminated with the Festival of Balloons, a family-friendly event open to the general public. More than 3,000 attendees were treated to the larger-than-life balloon sculptures, dresses and other inflated masterpieces from the WBC. They also enjoyed balloon entertainers, stage performances, fun photo opportunities and the chance to buy their own helium-inflated Qualatex® balloons.
“The convention showed the excitement that Qualatex balloons have created on a worldwide basis,” says Wayne Roberts, MAS, vice president for Pioneer Balloon Company. “No matter how balloons are used, they create fun for people of all ages.”
