PPAI membership hit another record high on Friday, December 30, 2011, as it soared past the 10,000-member mark. The accomplishment came just six months after reaching the previous record of 9,000 members on July 1, 2011. In the past year, PPAI membership has grown 30 percent.
“This is an incredible accomplishment for the Association, but it’s not surprising that PPAI is experiencing such steady growth,” says Paul Bellantone, CAE, president and CEO of PPAI. “We’ve got the products, services, resources and events that our members are craving—such as The PPAI Expo in Las Vegas. PPAI’s entire focus is to advocate the viability, visibility and credibility of our industry. This growing community of members will support and benefit from this milestone. I’m confident that with the staff and leadership we’ve got in place, this steady momentum will continue.”
PPAI’s 10,000th member has been identified as distributor Polar Bear Marketing in Riverside, California. Company President David Peterson was excited to learn he had helped PPAI reach its latest milestone. He says: “I’ve been in this business for 23 years and it’s been a wonderful trip. It’s changed over the years, but one thing remains the same: This industry works. It’s a long-lasting message for advertisers. I joined PPAI to give back to the industry I fell in love with. It’s given me a pretty darn good life.”
The 10,000th member milestone reflects the collaborative efforts of PPAI’s staff. Reflecting on the accomplishments, Marcia Bohannon, senior manager of membership relations, says: “This was a tremendous achievement on the part of this organization as a whole. It was a good team effort from everyone including our sales and member care teams and the marketing and IT teams. Their commitment was key to this achievement.
