Geiger Connects With Senator To Get Company, Industry Concerns Across

Lewiston, Maine-based distributor Geiger (UPIC: geiger) maintains regular contact with its congressional delegation and encourages elected officials and their staff to visit and learn first-hand what the company does and the challenges the industry faces.

To accomplish this, Geiger has established a connection with Senator Susan Collins of Maine, having had the opportunity to give her a sense of the issues confronting the promotional products industry over the course of several visits to the company. On her last visit she conducted a “town hall” with Geiger Associates. Carlene Tremblay, the Senator’s Maine-based liaison, recently spent time meeting with company employees and talking to them about their legislative concerns.

Peter Geiger, the company’s executive vice president, says, “We have a very high respect for Senator Collins. While we may not agree with her stance on a given issue, we know she has listened and is doing what she feels is right. Her decency and integrity are unquestioned. She is a superb person.”

In turn, the Senator sent this note after Tremblay’s meeting: “The fact that Geiger has not only survived, but thrived, as a small family business for more than a century is a true testament to the vision and commitment of the Geiger family. Geiger is not only a valued employer in Maine, but also a responsible corporate citizen that truly cares about the community and its people.”
