Write Your Member Of Congress Today And Make A Difference In Product Safety Law Reform
PPAI has put in place the tools necessary to ensure that the promotional products industry’s voice is heard on the issue of product safety law reform. Take action today to support legislation providing relief from some of the more problematic provisions of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA).
H.R. 1939, the Enhancing CPSC Authority and Discretion Act of 2011, is intended to reduce the CPSIA’s regulatory burdens without harming consumers, to enhance the ability of the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to investigate complaints and prioritize them on risk, and to improve the utility and accuracy of information in the CPSC’s public database. The House Energy and Commerce Committee has begun the process to approve the bill for consideration by the full House of Representatives. This is known as a “mark-up” of the bill.
The democrats in the House Committee on Energy and Commerce are opposed to the bill, making it a top priority for this group to hear from constituents immediately. This is also an opportunity for members of the industry to reach out to their members of Congress and urge them to reach out to their colleagues in the Committee to approve the bill.

Can you give me simple talking points? Or just tell me what you want me to say to my Congressman. And I’ll be glad to do it. Thanks! Paula
